Worldwide, 20,000 deaths still occur annually due to landmines and other unexploded ordinance, material often left over from conflicts long since ended. Australia's contribution to mine clearance, education and victim support has been generous in the past but is set to run out by 2005.

Local campaigners are asking the Federal Government to recommit for ten more years of mine action. It’s a good cause and all we want is your name and email address (kept private) on an email petition.
