Who we are...

Sr
Ann Gilroy
Ann Gilroy has come to the Congregational Leadership Team from the New Zealand Province where for the last decade she has been a lecturer and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Theology at the University of Auckland, and a member of the Catholic Institute of Theology. The School developed from the initial collaboration of the Anglican, Baptist and Catholic churches seeking to make theological education available at University level to all interested women and men as well as those studying for ordained ministry in the churches.
Ann’s first contact with the Josephites was in her early years at a Christchurch primary school when the Josephite Sisters took over the school from the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions. Ann’s grandmother was excited at the change because she had known Mary MacKillop from her own childhood when Mary had stayed with her family while travelling in New Zealand and had kept contact with the family for some time after. Unfortunately by the time Ann was ready to join the Josephites, her grandmother was no longer around to answer her new questions about Mary MacKillop.
Ann has been a Josephite for forty years and during that time has been involved primarily in educational ministries. For the last three years she was also on the Provincial Leadership Team.
Ann has worked with and been inspired by many who share the Josephite charism - Sisters, Associates and others - and now looks forward to her role in leadership which will be focused on the pathways of the 25th General Chapter. |
