Who we are...

Sr
Anne Derwin

Anne Derwin's life with the Josephites goes back to her first day at school at Regina Coeli Beverly Hills! From that day until she left school at the end of Year 12 at MSJ Milperra, she was educated by the Sisters of St Joseph.
Sometime during her first year at Sydney University she walked up and down Mount Street until she had the courage to ring the doorbell and ask if she could enter the
Congregation! So began the rest of her life with the Josephites.
That life has led to many happy years in secondary education, both as teacher and principal; to six years on the Provincial Council followed by six years as Provincial of NSW; to administration of two special Josephite venues – Kincumber and Mary MacKillop Place.
As she now moves to her new ministry in the Congregation, she does so with gratitude – to her sisters in the Congregation who have placed this trust in her, to her mother and family whose love for her is so unconditional, to the Chapter for the pathways it has given the Congregation for the years ahead, to Sister Katrina Brill and members of her team who have led the Congregation so faithfully and enabled a smooth transition in leadership and finally to the members of her team who join her now in this ministry.
Our Chapter calls us forward now “to set out on new pathways..to be called afresh to explore mission and identity as consecrated women religious..to structure our Congregation in new ways in order to walk with those most in need of God’s justice and hospitality…to recognise God’s future coming to meet us…” (25th General Chapter ) |
