Who we are...

Sisters of St Joseph NSW Province
We are members of the New South Wales Province
of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
We are women who have answered the call to share
in the mission of Jesus as Sisters of St Joseph.
It is the flame of Mary MacKillop's charism
which unites us as Josephites across time, distance and culture.
Keen to rekindle the fire within us,
we continue to commit ourselves
to retell the story of Mary MacKillop with our lives,
letting her passion be our passion.
Today the Sisters of St Joseph play a vital role in the life and
mission of the Church. Their life is lived out of a deep personal
relationship with Jesus, in community, and expressed through the
vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Living as a Sister of St Joseph means:
- a commitment to a communal way of life
- praying together,
- sharing life together and sharing a common vision
- keeping alive the spirit of Mary MacKillop
- personal development through a variety of ministry,
- educational and spiritual opportunities.
A simple, celibate, communal way of life enables us to reach out
to the poor and marginalised, responding to the needs of the local
community wherever we are. |
