2009 - Centenary of Mary MacKillop's Death

Josephite Gathering Weekend 7th - 9th of August... Mission Bay.
The purpose of this weekend is twofold
* To provide an opportunity for the Federation Josephites and the
Central Josephites here in NZ to share a weekend together.
* To celebrate 100 years since Mary MacKillop’s death.
The weekend will begin with a Welcome and Gathering at 7.00 p.m. on Friday 7th at Mission Bay.
On Saturday 8th Marie Crowley who wrote ‘Women at the Vale’, the story of the Bathurst Sisters will share with us the story of the separation that resulted in the formation of the Federation Congregations. In the afternoon at 2.00 p.m. we will celebrate Eucharist at St. Michael’s Remuera, followed by afternoon tea.

In the evening of the 8th we will have a celebratory dinner at Mission Bay.
On Sunday 9th of August Virginia Bourke rsj from Lochinvar will give us some input on the history and significance of the Josephite monogram and also explore the spirituality that the monogram expresses. The weekend will close with a Ritual of Closure and lunch at 1.30 p.m.
Our hope would be that as many Sisters as possible will join in this weekend. The Leadership Teams of the Affiliates and Associates of both Congregations will be invited to participate in all the weekend events. There will be an open invitation to all Associates and friends of the Sisters to attend the Eucharist on Saturday afternoon.
