Community on Mission

Each of us is sent to a particular apostolic community, where we are called to be a sign of close union with God, realising that in God we find the origin and goal of our relationships with each other. Our life in community supports, enables and challenges us to carry our Josephite charism into our diverse ministries. (Constitutions 19)

I worked as a teacher and principal in schools for many years and then as a Pastoral Associate in Parishes.

I am now the State Co-ordinator for the Seasons for Growth Program.  The program aims to assist children or adults who are emotionally affected by loss, grief or change in their lives.  The program helps participants to work with their loss in a positive way.  As co-ordinator, I organise and train leaders for the program and offer professional and personal support to them. Working with these people is always inspiring to me because they are people who "care for kids" and want to make a difference in their lives.  Seasons for Growth gives me a means of "setting the downtrodden free" (Luke 4:18) which is something Mary MacKillop always tried to do in her time.

Primary School Teacher

It has been my privilege to be a Sister of St Joseph for 40 years.  During these years I have been happily challenged in my role as principal and class teacher in numerous Catholic primary schools.  I deem it an honour to be part of the spiritual and human growth, and development of these children.  To be able to continue the ministry begun by Mary MacKillop is gift.

My life is enriched by being part of the Josephite Associates, a great group of wonderful people who endeavour to live out the charism of Mary MacKillop in their everyday life.  At present it is a wonderful experience to support the vision of two Associates at the school, who have begun an active Junior Mary MacKillop Group.  Life as a Josephite is a rewarding life.
