Josephite today, means much more than vowed Sisters of St Joseph. Sisters encourage new voices to enter the melody. The charism may be indefinable, but it can be recognised. First given to our Founders and the early Sisters, many people like ourselves rejoice in it today.
The melody today include many who are involved in God’s mission in the Josephite Spirit – Associates, Board Directors, staff of Congregational ministries, colleagues, volunteers and committee members to name a few. Independent organisations such as MacKillop Family Services in Melbourne now bear Mary MacKillop’s name and many former Josephite schools and ministries continue to live and grow in Mary’s spirit.
The sisters in these days are called to release the richness of the charism….to create welcome spaces for new voices to enter the melody
