Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart
The Josephite Charism, initially articulated by Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods, has been expressed in the vowed life of the Sisters since 1866.
With the passage of time, the Josephite Congregation of Sisters has spread within Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Ireland and beyond.
God continues to gift the Congregation with the Charism given to Mary MacKillop and her early companions.

As women religious, God invites us into a relationship which expresses the possibility of life lived to the full.
Through the vows we enter into right relationship with God within, with others and with our world.Chastity draws us into ever-deepening relationships. Poverty is the ground for relationships of generosity, simplicity and sustainability. Obedience is listening and collaborative discernment of new ways to be active with ‘the poor’. Our life of consecration can mirror to the world its own potential for dealing positively with difference, negotiating fear and hurt, sharing resources and respecting the equality and dignity of all.
-
We are summoned, as Mary and Julian were, to set our on new pathways.
-
We are called afresh to explore mission and identity as consecrated women religious.
-
We are called to right relationship.
