Apology Day - Brisbane

Yesterday was a day of celebration.

In Brisbane emotions were high with families remembering their loved ones and others with the shock of hearing Australia's Prime Minister apologising to a nation.

This day will be remembered by thousands of people across this sacred land who viewed and witnessed Mr Rudd's sincere and heartfelt apology. I often think of the millions of footprints our people have walked over the years now I will also include the tears that have been shed at Parliament House yesterday with the First People's presence with Mr Rudd. Parliament House will never be the same for our tears and heartache are also spread on the grounds of Parliament House.

Hopefully now the Truth, Healing and Reconciliation can begin with our brothers and sisters and wider community.

People celebrated the National Apology Day with a gathering of people at Justice Place with the viewing of the apology followed by a breakfast.
