Vision Statement

Mary MacKillop responded to the needs of her time in ways that respected the human dignity of all. The Mary MacKillop Foundation now provides an opportunity to support the many who seek such a response.

Philosophy of the Foundation

The philosophy of the Foundation shall be in accordance with the spirit and traditions and practices of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph

which include commitment to:

  • working in partnership with others to further the mission of Jesus entrusted to the Church in which the Congregation shares.

  • searching for justice and reaching out in compassion to bring the Gospel to those in need.

  • working for others, especially the poor, within the limits of human weakness and frailty but trusting in and dependent upon God.

  • respect for the uniqueness of each person and to awaken in all persons a sense of their worth and dignity.

The Mary MacKillop Foundation was set up to provide resources to continue the works in the spirit of Mary MacKillop that reflect the Josephite vision. It was set up as an incorporated Company and structurally has a Board of Directors with representatives from each state as well as active branches in Western Australia and Victoria.
