Sister Sheila McCreanor of the Congregational Leadership Team of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart launched the book. The launch took place at the Canberra Campus of ACU on Tuesday August 27, 2012.Assoc Prof McArdle, Campus Dean as MC.
Sheila in her address said: "I feel very honoured to have been asked by Jo to launch this book today. As a fellow Sister of St Joseph I have had both a personal and an academic interest in reading the histories of the various branches of the religious congregations with links to Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods."
Sheila went on to say: “In completing this book, Jo has made an important contribution to historical studies of religious congregations in Australia. Through careful scholarship she has mapped the story from the beginnings at Westbury on 24 May 1887 until the celebrations 125 years later on 24 May 2012 when the Tasmanian Sisters merged with the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
Jo was joined by her fellow Sisters, family, colleagues and friends who rejoiced with her on this occasion.
