The Local Communities of the sisters living in New South Wales form the NSW Region. There are 317 sisters currently living in the Region which includes the sisters living in East Timor.

In March 2013 the sistes of the Goulburn Congregation of Sisters of Saint Joseph merged with our congregation and these sisters now form part of the new Region of NSW.
Our sisters live in all parts of NSW and are involved in a variety of ministries including: education, aged care, parish ministry, rural ministry, spirituality, pastoral care and hospitality.
Together we affirm our dignity as Josephite women passionately engaged with God and God’s mission. We believe that we are continually being called to a mission of service to those whose dignity has been diminished. We live lives of contemplative action at the prophetic edge in society and Church.
Our hearts are open to those in our world, who suffer poverty in its many forms. We are moved to respond to this suffering and the injustices which cause it. We recognise we have a responsibility to care for the earth and to play our part as society grapples with threats to the integrity of creation.
We recognise our unique responsibility to the Aboriginal peoples. We commit ourselves to stand with them and to find more effective ways of advocating for their rights and dignity.
