From the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart
The Aussie Camino is a pilgrimage walk inspired by the life and journeys of Sisters of Saint Joseph founders St Mary MacKillop and Fr Julian Tenison Woods. Jim recently completed the Aussie Camino and shares his experience with us here.
This week, we commemorate the Uluru Statement from the Heart release, National Sorry Day, and the beginning of National Reconciliation Week. On behalf of the Josephite SA Reconciliation Circle, we invite you to read a response to the Uluru Statement from the Heart here.
Internationally, World Communications Day occurs each year on the Sunday before Pentecost, and invites us to reflect on how we can best use our gifts to bring about the gospel message of love, compassion, and inclusion. Sr Anne-Marie shares a reflection for this day here.
We celebrate the Ascension on Sunday 29 May. "The ascension of Jesus into heaven is not only about absence. Pope Francis would say 'it tells us that He is living among us in a new way'." Sr Kerrie invites us to reflect on what is this new way, how is Jesus blessing us now, and what are the gifts of the Holy Spirit here.
For her Pentecost message, Congregational Leader, Sr Monica Cavanagh, shares her experience on her recent participation in the International Union of Superiors Generals meeting in Rome where she draws a parallel to the reality of the first Pentecost. View Sr Monica's Pentecost message here.
