Hope for a Tree
“There is always hope for a tree, if it is cut down, it will sprout again and shoots will not cease…” (Job 14 :7)

To celebrate Christmas, branches are cut down and trees are decorated with flickering lights, branches and adorned with lights and ornaments of all kind. We remember with gratitude the oxygen trees provide us with, the nourishment of fruit, warmth through their burning, elimination of erosion and beauty in buildings, furniture and sculptures.

For many years the large conifer in the grounds of St Andrew’s Parish in Werribee announced the time of Christmas.

Lawrie Grant shares his reflections on that tree today…
