Visitors at Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, Melbourne

Mr Tim Fischer and his wife have been among the many recent visitors to Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre (MMHC). Tim Fischer is the Australian Ambassador to the Vatican. He and his wife Judy were in Melbourne for the Parliament of World Religions.

Tim was invited to visit the Museum by Sr Josephine rsj and he immediately took up the invitation. Both Mr. Fischer and his wife were impressed by the Museum and the way in which the story of Mary MacKillop’s early life in Melbourne and the foundation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph in Victoria are presented. Mr. Fischer complimented Sr Maria Casey rsj on her outstanding work in Rome as we continue to wait for further news from the Vatican.

Mr. Fischer’s visit to Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre coincided with the Book Launch – From Humble Beginnings.
