
Are you interested in learning more about Mary MacKillop’s life and spirituality?
This May, BBI – The Australian Institute of Theological Education, is hosting two online professional development sessions for its course, The Spirituality of Mary MacKillop, presented by Sr Catherine Mead rsj.
Sr Catherine, a member of the Congregational Leadership Team of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart, will explore Mary MacKillop’s life, context and spirituality, and will present on how Mary’s legacy shapes contemporary expressions of God’s mission today.
With extensive experience in Catholic education, staff professional development and mission/faith formation, Sr Catherine has also written two papers on the Josephite approach to education, which you can access below:
- The educational leadership experiences of principals and their respective leadership teams in the implementation of a Josephite approach to education in six schools in the Josephite tradition (The University of Notre Dame Australia, 2019)
- Characteristics of a Josephite approach to education evident in the leadership practices of principals and their leadership teams (British Journal of Religious Education, 2025)
