Xavier Crimmins, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Sisters of Saint Joseph Spirituality Ministry.

The Board of the Spirituality Ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph is pleased to announce the appointment of Xavier Crimmins as its Chief Executive Officer.

Xavier, who commenced in the role on 8 April 2024, will use his extensive leadership experience and expertise within the community services sector to develop the next three-year strategy for the Spirituality Ministry.

“I am delighted and excited to lead the Spirituality Ministry into the next chapter of its journey,” says Xavier.

“The long history of the Sisters’ works will continue as we explore new ways to deliver their Mission within a fast-changing world. The bringing together of the Ministries from around Australia provides a great opportunity to grow and further develop the Sisters’ work to more people and communities in faith and hospitality. I look forward to working with the Spirituality Ministry team, Board, and Sisters of Saint Joseph to bring the refreshed vision to reality.”

Natalie Acton, Chair of the Spirituality Ministry Board, expressed her enthusiasm on Xavier’s appointment.

“The Board and I are delighted to be working with Xavier as the new CEO of the Spirituality Ministry. He brings expertise in scaling businesses and guiding through times of change.”

Xavier takes over from Robin Cowdery, Interim CEO and Transition Project Manager, who has been instrumental in setting up the groundwork for the Spirituality Ministry’s expansion.

“We thank Robin for the support she has given the Board over the recent months,” says Natalie. “Her work has prepared us well for this next phase.”

The Congregational Leadership Team extend their congratulations to Xavier and appreciation to Robin.

Sr. Monica Cavanagh remarked, “Xavier will play an important role in bringing to life a ‘whole of ministry’ approach to this important work of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.”

Previously Xavier was Group CEO of Campbell Page, a not-for-profit organisation delivering a range of employment, community and commercial services. Xavier is also the founder and director of Social Purpose Consulting Australia which delivers a range of consultancy services designed to help not-for-profit and social purpose businesses maximise their social impact.
